    Default looking for a couple of flying squirrels

    all you marten trappers - I am looking for a couple of mountable flying squirrels for a taxidermy piece.

    How about some nice fat camp robbers?? Did real well catching them in my marten sets this last weekend....

    I have one that hangs out in my yard.

    I will see if she want to cooperate!

    Juli, FYI, I caught a very nice prime otter last week if you are interested. It was caught in a 330 so no trap damage. Otherwise it's getting skinned and sent to the Fur Rondy auction.

    Hi Steve, thanks so much for the offer! I don't have needs for one at this time or I would take you up on it. They are one of my favorite critters. I am still looking for that flying squirrel though

    I just contacted him this morning.. Unfortunately none of the squirrels were mountable.

    I got a beautiful wood duck sitting in my freezer...

    We had 6 of them when I was a kid. Had an old wood and glass show case from a hardware store for a cage, We had several chipmunks and red squirrels in there. Then dad came across a nest of flying squirrels in a tree he fell while logging. Brought them home in his lunch box.
    Most people never get to see one, since they are mostly nocturnal.

    When I lived on POW a neighbor brought a flying squirrel home that had been in a tree he had cut. He had, like your dad, put it in a lunch box. Opened the box up outside his trailer and 'bam', the squirrel was gone in a split second. They are indeed a very nocturnal animal.
