Default Two nice bulls, one with 13 brow tines!

I just got my video finished up from my hunt this fall. I took my father out to western Alaska to see if we could get him his first moose at 72. He has received the conservationist award on the last few hunts but was saving karma points for this beauty! Unfortunately I only took my gopro in an attempt to go light and will never not bring the DSLR again. My buddy Owen and his father also joined us and Owen took his largest moose to date.

    Enjoy!

Nice Tag River bulls! The bridge in Selawik and the Ravn Navajo gave it away.
You got all you guys and your stuff in and out of the Vill in a J-3?

WOW......It never ceases to amaze me the seemingly never ending antler configurations you see on moose. You'll see one and say to yourself.....now I've seen somethin', then a few days later you see another one that blows you away just as well.

I'll say it again....there's NOTHIN' like a big bull moose comin' in to the call.

Congrats, and here's to Alaska and big bull moose...!!! They really are somthin' special...!!!

Congrats to your Dad on his first moose! Very nice...two fathers and two sons go hunting, and come back with two very nice bulls.

Fantastic success! What a great trip too. Obvious monster, exactly what F&G wants us to hunt.

I have a curiosity question (Not Meant To Cause Problems)...on the right side of the second moose in the video, how does F&G "count" the brow tines? I would count it as 7, but I could see a desk pusher saying No, it has 2. Or is this considered atypical? Again, I am curious what the experts say, or better yet how F&G counts them.

Fantastic hunt, video, and what a great time you must have had...a truly trip of a lifetime and thanks for sharing.

Then you would have to get a second opinion...I think F&G would be counting 7 brow tines on that right side, just like you or me.

Thanks everyone! It was for sure one of my most memorable hunts and Dad has 50 pictures printed that he shows everyone he sees back home.

We did used the J-3 for all of our runs. Nine loads out.

"“Brow tine” means a tineemerging from the first branch or
brow palm on the main beam ofa moose antler; the brow palm isseparated from the main palm bya wide bay; a tine originating inor after this bay is not abrow tine." This is what the regs has. It would be tough for someone to argue that it is two since it is part of the brow palm.
