    Default The Attorney Thread

Well, finances forced me to cancel my hunt this fall, so here I sit at the computer again...

I know in the past, some members have posted situations where they made mistakes in the field that resulted in a citation from the Troopers (not a citation for meritorious service, either; the other kind). I recall one a few years back where a friend of mine was cited for wanton waste because he killed a goat late in the day, gutted it and left it to cool on the rocks. His partner fell off the mountain and broke his leg. My friend ended up escorting him to the hospital and was later cited for not retrieving his goat (he returned to the mountain and it was gone, presumably carted off by a bear). At any rate, without getting into a bunch of war stories here, I thought it might be beneficial to start a thread to post names and contact info of attorneys our members may have used for situations like this.

I fully support our game laws, and the work our law enforcement folks do, but I also realize that there are times when you have to obtain legal assistance. That's what this thread is for.

How about it, guys? Any referrals out there?

Brent Cole in Anchorage did me well for a mistake I made a couple years ago. Lived and learned from that one.

I do everything in my power to stay away from the lawyers, lol.

As much money that I used to shell out for a two week trip, I sure as hell am not going to do something that brings one of those blood suckers into the mix.

I know people make mistakes, ( read the hunting violation thred) but it has to be pretty big if somebody needs a lawyer.

Most of us always try to do the wrong thing. Crap happens and bad decisions might be made. Even the small stuff might lead to a lawyer if you have to worry about it affecting your job. I think this is a great thread but I hope none of us ever need to call any of these contacts again.

An engineer died one day and when he made it to the pearly gates an incompetent angel told him "sorry we are all full". So, he went down to hell and Satan started putting him to work. After awhile, hell wasn't looking all that bad. He got the air conditioning working, a swimming pool put in, and a freezer with ice-cold lemonade. Then the good Lord heard about what was going on down there and he called up lucifer. "Lucifer" he said, "now you know I heard you got one of my guys down there". The devil replied "it ain't my fault one of your angels made a mistake. He's mine now". The Lord said, "now Satan, you don't want me to have to go hire myself one of those lawyers do you?". The devil laughed and said "where do you think you are going to find a lawyer?"

All jokes aside, sorry to hear you are in a predicament Mike. Care to share with us more details of your situation. Maybe it would help us, to help you out more if we knew more about what the situation was about.

    Excellent thread, Mike.

I had good luck with a fine gentlemen in Fbks named Chris Zimmerman, tho it wasn't for a wildlife violation. He does a bit of hunting so I think he would do a fellow well.
