    Default Henry's H010 45-70 Govn't

Does anyone know what's the safe but unofficial pressure limit this rifle can take?
Some metallurgy guru said a Marlin 1895G can take up to 40,000 PSI.
The official word from the manufacturer is SAAMI standard, which is no more than 28,000 PSI.

Not being a expert on the 45-70 my data shows 26,500 psi as about average for a 405 gr bullet. I would think approaching 40,000 psi would cause overpressure problems with the cases. I'm pretty sure that most firearms manufactures maximum psi ratings has a fudge/liability factor figured in with that.
