    Default lightweight starter

    I got a lightweight skytec starter on a 0320 b2b i got 480 hours in three years my guess is i have about 700 starts since this was new is this about the expected life of a lightweight starter it will engauge but does not have enough power to turn the motor over sometimes push the button again and it will turn it over i checked all the electrical fittings and all seemed good mostly curiou what other people are getting out of lightweight starter thanks

    I would check all the cables, especially the battery cable, before swapping a starter that young. Older cables can look good but work poor. Found an aluminum cable last time I was having trouble with a starter...

    Sounds like your battery or starter solenoid...load check your battery, if that is good, check the voltage drop across your starter solenoid.

    15 years and 1670 hours and still going on a MAGNAFLITE / HARTZELL . . 0320 lyc.
