Default need camera and adapter for swaro stm 65

    Hello All,

Im looking to purchase a new camera and adapter for my swaro stm 65 to start digiscoping.

I would like to spend under $500 on the camera however want a quality point and shoot. weight is a concern. I already have a dslr.

The adapter again weight is a concern but i would like something that works with the recommended camera.

Thanks so much. I have a solo hunt coming up and that is why im attempting to change cameras mid season.

Have a look at the Olympus Tough cameras.

All the photos and videos I have posted for years have been taken using a TG1 or TG2, with my ATM I just slipped the optional lens adapter under the eye guard rubber and left it there. a 1/4 turn attaches the camera.

Check page 7 of this link,, I show some of the ways I have tried.

So you took a tg3/2/1 to a 40.5mm lens adapter to 20.5 to 52mm step up lens. From there you unscrewed your eye cup and screwed the step up lens/adapter/camera combo into the eye piece.

Now here is what im thinking even though it may cost more. What are your thoughts.

I would run the tg3 to the samsung 40.5mm lens adapter ($20) to a 40.5 to 46mm step up adapter ($5) into the tines up adapter ($70)

My only question would then be how far is the distance between the scope and camera and will i get the halo effect since it would not be adjustable.

I am shying away from the tinesup kit only because the batery life on the canon s110 is poor and i dont want to rely on multiple batteries for the hunt.

The tines up kit also fits the tg3 however reggie reported that the tg3 will begin vignetting around 38x on the spotter. I would much rather be able to zoom in to 60x and take photos.

The step up ring I used on my NEW ATX,, on the older ATM and STMs the eye guard is different.

The issue I had with the times up and other means is the lens ends up too far away from the spotter eye lens. This results in too much vignetting.
