Lots of bears up that way. Especially up past the Yentna to where the Skwenta meets the Hayes. Hunt really late hours. If you can still see, sit until after midnight. I've seen a lot of bears in the hours between 1 AM and 6 AM. Find a stream with lots of salmon and lots of bear tracks. You'll know you are in a really good spot if you can find a nice heavily used bear trail in the thick alders. Sit downwind of the thick alders and wait quietly and patiently.

The tighter the quarters, the more fun! Find a good squeeze point on the trail where visibility falls to near zero, and wind pushes your scent away from the water, and plop down there.
