Thread: onion maggots?

  1. #1

    Default onion maggots?

Had a onion plant die so I pulled it up, sure enough there they are.

Any tips to get rid of or prevent (next year)?

    Covering them all year...or?

I use Nematodes, but even that's a hit and miss sometimes.

OMG, I hate those little B******S.
We have not yet figured a fool proof way to keep them from getting our onions. However, I did just purchase a mosquito net tent that goes over a camp cot. Next year it is going to hopefully keep the onion boxes covered and 'fly free'.

We lose over 1/2 of our onions to onion maggots.
