Beautiful buck and scenery, alpine hunts are the best! Just got back from a 2-day hunt with my in-laws (father, mother, two sisters, wife, and me). All three daughters got bucks (two 3x3s and a 4x3). There were more to be found, but Father-in-law and I were doing most of the packing and we knew well enough not to load our packs up any heavier than they already were!

Holy, what a huge Blacktail! It's amazing the genetics difference between northern and southern southeast AK. 3 and 4 points seem to be a lot more common down there. That's a beautiful non-typical buck with that nice drop tine on the one side and that curled eye guard. Must have shot it at pretty low elevation, seeing as how it's the whole deer laying on a deck.

'tibor' you shot that deer with that bow? Very impressive, hats off!

So who's the lucky lady Will? That's a nice buck! I love the rack variations in Sitka Blacktails. Some, like that one, are so close to Muleys whilst others (like tibor's) look more like Whitetails (with the rear beam not dividing so it looks more like another point off one main beam). We get the best of both worlds!

Here is a photo of my wife's buck. It was her first buck, so needless to say she was very happy!

Will, that's about as nice a Sitka rack as you will ever see. That was one lucky young lady.
