Default Fuel consumption on a 27 Navigator

I am considering the purchase of a 27' Sea Sport Navigator. The only draw back is that it has a carburated 454.It has a Volvo Duoprop with B 2 props.I would prefer a diesel, but the vessel is fairly decent otherwise. Does anybody have any expierence with any 27' Sea Sports and fuel consumption? My smaller Osprey gets about 2-2.5 miles per gallon, or 10-12 gph. I can live with losing some milage, but I don't want to cut it in half with the price of fuel nowdays. Thanks for any input.

Not sure if this helps you much but I have a 24 foot SeaSport with the 496 fi.
We average about 2.3-2.7 mpg. My gut instint is that the boat would get 1.5 mpg.
I suggest you ask this question over on the Hull Truth as there are more larger boat owners there:

What did the owner tell you the fuel consumption was?

We have a 27' SeaSport Pilot with a carburated 454. We cruise at about 22-23kts and use about 15-16 gph, depending on conditions. Usually we run at about 3400 rpms. I think 1.5 mpg is a pretty good estimate.
