    Default Yentna

I am new to Alaska and have come in to some property on the Yentna short of Youngstown Bend. I have a jet but know nothing of this river. I am planning a trip up to look over the area in August and plan to put in at Deshka. Am wondering if any of you folks with experience on this river might provide a little guidance about water conditions and what I might expect. Is this something I can tackle sight unseen or do I need a little help learning these rivers. Thanks in advance.

you shouldnt have any problems right now the water is very high. You can always ask someone at the landing and see if they are you to the yetna and just follow them.
Is it opening day of duck season yet

The yentna is an easy river to read. What boat are you running?

Xtreme 2072 with a modified v hull and jet tunnel. Merc 115 optimax on back and draft about 6" with a moderate load.
