Thread: Kasilof Fencing

    Default Kasilof Fencing

This afternoon I decided to make an appearance at the opening day at the North Kasilof beach. While the catching was some what unremarkable, I was very happy to see an attempt to control entry to the beach by automobiles and foot traffic. A big thank-you should be given to whatever agency or organization put up the fencing. While the fencing is at best temporary I hope users will make every attempt to protect the grassy areas. Proper signage should be placed prohibiting camping within the grassy areas.

That would be the Kasilof River Dune Protection Project sponsored by the Nikiski Middle/High School, Kasilof Regional Historical Association and the Kenai Watershed Forum. Signs appear to be posted about every 100 yards. There are however pedestrian access point along this fence. The signs indicate "No vehicles beyond the fence"
