Default first double of the king season!

These 70 YO did great! We fished all morning and couldnt find any fish and then my brother dialed us in on a bit where he was, 2 minutes into the troll we hooked these guys and then the F15 yamaha made a grinding noise and the prop quit spinning! We rigged spoons and trolled with the main engine and hooked one more. Ordered a new F25 from Deweys and a 5inch extension for it from Bay manufacturing.

Doubles are nutty! Lotta action in the water and on deck. We're batting 500 on them this spring. Lost one of the two on the first, but got it sorted and landed both the second time around. Kinda entertaining to hook doubles with only two of us onboard.

Sorry to hear about your 15.... Did you figure out what happened?

Had a leak in the lower unit seal, causing lower unit failure?

The power head has been leaking oil and running rich so I started looking into a new trolling motor and figured mid june In would replace the 15 with 25hp. Then the leg decided to go first. I had a 5 inch extension put on, so maybe that coupler gave? Other than the oily sheen out back and the smell of exhuast it was running and idling like a champ!
