I was thinking of grabbing my rabbit squealer next time out, I'm curious too.

My dad has a hunting video where the guy does this for black bears.I can't remember the title right now.
I think it is a Wayne Carlton video.
I have a coworker who's neighbor called in a brown this way on the Kenai Peninsula and he had a brown bear tag.
I would have someone watching my back for sure.

I've had 0 responses in the spring.
Several responses in late fall (October) though. With blacks and browns.
Don't be aggressive with the call...

I have called in several different bears over the years using a varmint call. It can get a 'little' exciting at times though. One hunting season on the Denali, I was calling and had 5 bears working their way to me. I could only see one, but the people watching me saw the other four.
I does/can work, just be ready for the unexpected!!!!!
