I just shipped a few vehicles (about 4k lbs each) with Alaska Marine Lines from Seattle to Anchorage. About $1,800 per. I ended up towing my drift boat up but it would have been about $1,500 to ship with them. The process was very smooth. Beth at their Seattle office was very helpful. She can give you a quote pretty fast.

I went with Tote, was cheapest by $500, or 10%

I went through this a few years ago and forgot who was cheapest....and things seem to change. The best thing to do is request a quote.
AML, Northland Barge, Samson tug & barge, Tote......... you will have to call and to determine the best receiving port the give them the specifics as to size and weight.

I used Tote also. Cheaper by a long shot, great service, and also had enough insurance to cover my boat if something happened. That is one thing you should ask, and that most people overlook. No sense shipping a $100,000+ boat if they only insure to say $70K.

    Good luck.....AKBillyBow

Northland has been bought out by AML.

$1500 in fuel plus another couple hundred for food plus 7 days round trip in my truck was the cheapest. I slept in the truck going down and in the boat on the return.

Samson Tug and Barge is the cheapest I've found at the moment if you can pick it up in Valdez or Seward.

    Good luck.
