Got on a big one twice. Got to 400 a couple times but he wouldn't leave the thick brush for a shot.

Wow, I know a dozen people who were spread out and covered over a hundred miles of coastline, flats, fields and southern slopes without one confirmed bear track out of Whittier. You should play the lottery.

I've been around cooper landing all weekend, never saw a bear, know a few guys with bait stations, they haven't seem any either.

What's the chances the bears are sleeping through the good weather?

got my first black bear two days ago! haven't done any "official measurements" but its gonna be over a 6 1/2fter. beautiful hide! and fat!!! at least 1-2in on most of him! picked him up across the bay from homer. saw quite a few at the head of the bay last week. nothing of any size tho. and a brown bear track too. never found him tho. still on the search for a brownie.

I was in hope and put a few miles on the boots and several hours looking through glass even messed around with a predator call ... We called in a fox,saw a wolf on the road no bears though ... No sign of bears except some old bear scat frozen in the ice from the fall probably.
Talked to a couple baiters they said the have only had 2 hits from brown bears no sign of black bears yet....had a great time with the kid it didn't rain on us and he called in a fox, he didnt get to shoot anything but its always cool to call something in... He is hooked!
