Drove up to Gunsight Mtn. today with my family. Decided to go check out this annual hawk migration I've been hearing about so much. It was well worth the drive. In about an hour and a half we saw about a half dozen red-tailed hawks (mostly harlan's hawks), another half dozen rough-legged hawks (mostly the dark morph variety but a few of the light morphs), a few northern goshawks, and a really cool light color phase northern harrier. That was the first time I've been up there to watch hawks and that was also the most hawks I've seen all at one time. My wife and kids enjoyed it too. Pretty cool.
