    Default ID this poop.

Found this a few other, larger piles on our cabin property, and set up a tree stand. (No bait station, too close to our cabin.) I expect this is bear poop, but can anyone determine black or brown and/or maybe size of the bear that left it? How old do you think it is?

You need to taste it in order to determine if it is Black Bear or Brown Bear.

Yeah, I know how it is. I don't pick up after my dog, either.

The thought did cross my mind it was horse poop, but I ruled it out as who would be riding a horse back there? No one.

I don't know what animal left the poop. A better picture would go a long ways in helping to identify the animal. Next time pull it apart (I would use a stick) and see what the animal was eating, grass, leaves, berries that would be a bear. If it has hair depending on size could be a wolf, coyote, fox etc.

What time of year, has something been eating the trees, what type of trees/brush is around the cabin, are there any tracks it all helped to identify the animal or miss lead you.

You said there were several piles that means the animal spent lots of time near your cabin. Something a moose would do. It also looked like sawdust, moose have two stomach there poop lookeds like compressed sawdust. We all know what moose nuggets looked like that not the only poop they poop.
If a moose diet changes so does the poop, a moose that feed near a lake will have very wet poop.

With no other information I would say what you found was moose poop as the animal diet is changing.

Some ware I have information on how to tell if a moose is a cow or bull by the size and shape of it nuggets, if your interested. It will not help you find a bull, it will impressed the girls in your life.

Well since this is a poop thread, I saw some today that I've not previously seen before. I didnt snap a pic because I was loaded down with bear bait but it looked like a pile of fat brown worms. Any idea?
