We have the Daiwa MegaTwin 750 and love it. We have 2100' of 55 lb denoah boat braid on it and try to fish super deep at least once each trip. Still haven't caught the elusive sablefish yet though. And it's nice for older people when halibut fishing.

If your choice would be to fish with the rod under your arm all day, I would suggest either the TB750 or 750MT. If rod holder fishing is your choice, you can't beat the T1000, and our spooled special at $599.99 with a full spool of 80# spectra from either Jerry Brown or Power Pro. The T1000 can be fished under the arm, but the reel is on the larger (wider) side and balance while holding it can be an issue.

Spooled properly, the 750 or the 1000 are capable of fishing water to 1500-1800ft. Spooled specials are available on either of the 750 models. It would be best to call the shop to discuss spooling options and for more details. 631.225.8862
