Default Halibut Lingcod combo charters out of Homer?

    Hi guys,

I've been looking around at different charters for 1 day halibut/lingcod combos and not having much luck. It seems that most do halibut/salmon combos, a few do 3 species, but I'm not interested in salmon nor rockfish. (we have a cabin on the Kenai, so salmon is already taken care of.)

Anybody know any good charters for halibut/lingcod? I'll be around Homer and wanting to go any day of July 21 to July 23.

    Thanks much!

Is this for next year? Those are prime dates and anyone I would recommend is going to filled up already for this year in July.
I would recommend Ron Hurley of in 2 fishin guide service. He does real good on Halibut and Lingcod. Including a derby winner a few years back.

Thanks, I'll check out Capt. Ron.

Alas, no, it's for this year, my friends didn't decide until now that they wanted to go halibut/lingcod fishing. I know...it's a quite late to be doing this.

All good recommendations so far, I would add David Bayes on the Grand Aleutian and Josh on the Huntress. Mike Mann likes to head out around the corner, but he does have a reputation for being the last one home...

Might as well add big Bear and Bobs trophy charters to the list.

Some of charters out of Homer are placing a self limit of one Lingcod this year! Glad to see steps taken before it is to late! To bad Fish & Game doesn't see what the guys on the water do and make it a one fish limit on lings too!

Let's see... In recent history the Homer AC proposed curtailing limits or season on steamers, razors, and tanner crab. We know what happened in those fisheries. This year we asked for cutting the limit on lings but it was a no-go. We did get a new start date (sept 15) on tanners when/if they open again, and we are proposing a permanent reduction in the razor limit (instead of constant EO's) to 25 in the next statewide misc shellfish cycle.
guess we will just have to see if history will repeat itself.
