    Default Borg Warner V-drive mechanic

Can anyone recommend a mechanic or shop that works on borg warner v-drives? Thinking about rebuilding 2 of them, not sure if I want to do it myself or pay someone, but I am leaning towards paying someone. Thanks

I sent my BW tranny out to Seattle for repairs 25 years ago but think a car tranny shop like B&B does them now in Anchorage. You might check with them.

There is one advantage to going to a Seattle shop that does a lot of them. Mine had lunched some gears that needed replacement and the shop suggested used gears they had salvaged at a much reduced price. The gearbox lasted without problems for over 3000 hours before I sold it so it worked out well. Unfortunately, the shop I used was Doc Freemans' which went out of business a while back so I can't suggest a good one donw there. Hopefully, someone will chime in here on a good shop.
