ALASKAN AVIATION ACCIDENT AND INCIDENT STATS FOR LAST YEAR 2013:
The NTSB claims there were 92 aviation accidents and incidents in Alaska during 2013.
14 of those involved fatalities.
Unlike many fatal accidents in the lower 48, none of the Alaskan wrecks appear to be from obvious suicides.
Of the 14 fatal accidents in Alaska during 2013, " 6 " of those were a direct result of flying in very bad weather or smoke conditions right into terrain.
Another 4 fatal crashes were the result of low level flying while spotting game animals. ( Moose Stall )
Only one pilot went missing and there were three more weird departure crashes that have not been figured out yet.
