Default please post current gas prices in your remote community or village

I'm curious, for a paper that I'm writing, what the cost of a gallon of gas is in some of the more rural locations of Alaska. Oftentimes, these remote locations don't show up on internet searches, when you try to find the current prices.

The paper that I'm writing, has a section regarding the expenses of fuel relating to hunting, fishing, and other subsistence activities. I need to make sure that I can accurately portray the cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gas. I'm not looking for heating fuel prices.

If you could, please format it like this:

The name of your remote community or village
What you fueled up: boat, snowmachine, atv, ect
What the cost per gallon was

If you want to state your concerns about the prices of fuel, if you think they're fair compared to other remote communities, and how this effects your hunting, fishing, or other trips, feel free. Just try to post them after the requested info above. Thanks in advance to those of you who help me out on this.

The thing about fuel in the villages is that fuel being used (used up) right now was purchassed almost a year ago. They buy in bulk for a few reasons. The big one it that barges only come thru once a year and the other is that the more they buy, the cheaper they get on pricing. I have a friend near Mcgrath that pays a average of $7.00 a gallon for the year. Makes it tough when you have a family and you all run 4 wheelers, snowmachines, chainsaws, generators and cars and have to buy a years worth..

In 1995 we payed 1.74 off the barge and we got 1000 gallons for the year in McGrath. We were shocked at the 3 dollar pump price then!!!

    thanks a bunch YC

    you're a huge help.

I have a birch bark basket, and book that I bought from an elder, Dorothy Savage Joseph, from Holy Cross. Amazing basket, she even dyed the spruce root (weaving) different colors.

ouch on these fuel prices, wow! higher than I imagined.

Our fuel distributor just sold out to a bigger outfit on K-pen and fuel cost dropped eighty cents a gallon to $4.10 in Wrangell. That was the first over five cents price change up or down in six years.
Now left only to be a turd in the forrest and the circle will be complete.Use me as I have used you

I charge $7.00 here at the lodge. By the time I pay to have it delivered, storage and such, it's not much of a profit. But without it, no one is coming out to see us! The fuel is only for off-road vehicles. I have no desire to get into all the requirements the state has for highway vehicle gas sales.

$7.09 or thereabouts a week ago in Dillingham.

Fuel prices here are a sore spot for folks who live here. We understand we're remote, but our prices are higher than many, more remote locations, including upriver locations and smaller villages that require more effort to get them to. But then, we tend to believe we're getting hosed in many ways. The only DLG to Anchorage air carrier is Pen Air (Alaska comes in during the summer months). Pen Air is obviously proud of their little monopoly; ticket prices are around 600 bucks RT. I went to KS for a family matter a little over a month ago. The Anchorage to Wichita portion cost me 150 less than the DLG to Anchorage ticket.

    OK, I'm done griping.

I got this info from teachers:

    Village: Takotna
price: depends. Villagers have to buy their fuel in advance for the year. If you want fuel you would have to find someone willing to sell you some of theirs.

    Village: Grayling and Anvik
    price: $7.50 +/-
