    Default Seldovia black bears

Hey guys! Just wondering if anyone knew if the bear hunting was good over in the Jackaloff / Seldovia area and where a good place to go get a black bear. I figured i might as well hunt when im not building my cabin over there, any info would be great.

Years ago we took a highway vehicle as far as we could up along Jackaloff creek and we did see a blackie just up above tree line. Never hunted them but I'm sure there are a few up there.....

road is completely gone at the switchback where the culvert was....up above treeline in august/ september is a good bet....also the tutka lagoon trail is a corridor they frequent, get up high and spot over one of the old clearcuts, you'll see them occasionally.

is it THAT much better than the other coves and such across the bay? i'd much rather hike in a few mile and enjoy some "free" hunting country than $150 a day! unless the $150 comes with a redhead? or a hotel room? jk

I've got an 5 acre parcel that's got a salmon stream and blueberries on it. Black and brown bears frequent it. I'm only charging $75 an hour to hunt it. Save the gas money and give me a call!

I'd take you on that deal before I paid the other one.

Incase anyone wanted to know where I got that figure. It is possible that their wording is convoluted and I made a mistake. But I don't think so.

Has anyone called them or bought a trespass fee from them?
