    Default Pad for Gunwale

Just checked on my boat down in Seward and the coaming pads on the inside of the gunwale are in pretty bad condition - wood is rotting out inside them. See attached image with arrow pointing towards what I am talking about (sorry about the hairy armpit in the photo, but those were a common sight with that amazing summer we had last year).

Looks if I order from manufacturer, they are about $160 each and they are currently out of stock. Anyone know a local company in Anchorage that could fab some of these up? Thanks!

pull them off cut new plywood backs and staple the same foam & covers back on the new plywood. Treat the plywood with woodlife or some other preservative and they will last for a long time. I've heard good reports on Buster's if you don't want to mess with them yourself.

If you can't keep the pad, do as Pot Builder says but buy some SeaDek (http://www.seadek.com/). Works awesome and lasts. You can order custom lengths.
