Default DG472, Crown mountain goat on Kodiak

Anybody else on here draw Crown mountain goat on Kodiak? Or, does anybody have any info on the area? If so lets talk about a plan on timing and other details. Thanks! KD

My son and I drew. Not exactly sure when we're going... sometime between September 25 and October 20, though.

We drew that hunt 2 years ago. We flew into Hidden Basin and hiked up a goat trail all the way back to 2 lakes just before Crown. Lots of goats and a great hunt. Saw some bears in the river bottom and some foxes on top that messed with our goat meat. Have fun

    Thanks Adam,

Just wondering do you know if you could have flown into those mountain lakes? I was thinking about doing that or just hiking in from the salt.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who would fly you into those lakes. They're pretty small and most of the operators don't want to deal with those higher alpine lakes after early Oct. A lot also depends on the terrain around the lakes. I'd say make a few phone calls and find out, I could be wrong.
