    Default Willing to trade scope?

Just wanted to throw this out there and see if there were any takers. I have a 5-20x50 Vortex Razor HD rifle scope that is an amazing piece of glass but when I built my rifle I didn't think it would end up as heavy as it did (11lbs). I'm trying to trim some weight off, the scope is a 35mm body instead of your standard 30mm. So I'm looking for a smaller bodied scope to swap it out with. I would be looking for glass that's equal in value and quality. Preferably Zeiss. I have all manuals, original box, flip up caps and level. I also have quality 35mm rings to go with it. Here's a link to the vortex website. The scope is in like new condition. It's been on my rifle for 6 months.

What action is that? Is that a Stiller or Borden action?

Looks like a Remington 700 action.

That doesn't look like a Remington, more like like a stiller or borden action but I can't see it too well...

    It's a stiller predator action.

Stiller actions are heavier, if you want to really lighten that rifle up, aside from replacing the scope , you should restock it, should shave some wt. there. or just build another from a rem. 700 action, or get a hold of a colt action.

I built this gun wanting a rifle good to a 1000yds. I would never shoot that far at game but I've quickly realized the same gun you shoot a 1000yds with is not the gun you haul up and down these mountains. I suppose I need to just build a mountain (light weight) rifle and keep this rifle for the flat lands.

I agree, I wouldn't trade the scope either, leave the gun as is for that purpose. Build you a light wt. Mountain rifle off a remington or winchester action put a nice custom barrel and stock on it, and you'll still be good to about 600 yards depending on what caliber you choose. Lastly, there's new lightweight scopes out with ballistic reticles if you so choose. Can never have too many guns...
