Default Install of a Good Windlass

I saw this post on another site i hang out on about Good windlass's though i pass it on.

    Capt Rich
    Looking for a 850bda a-3.
Trying to find it for less than $1665.00!
Seems like a big nut for a small winch.

    Answer from Larry
"Richie go for the Good it is top notch & local built in NJ. It pulls like a mule. Great free drop & and easy install. Customer service, family run business. You always get dad or the sons. Your will not be sorry."
"Shoot the lock off your wallet, nothing is worse that running up to the bow to give it a kick. You are only doing this once if you buy a NEW Good Free-drop Unit."

This is what I'm putting on our new Wooldridge build, based on your recommendation and input. It will have 600' of 1/2 and 50' of 5/16" chain with a 33lb Bruce anchor. Defenitely only want to do it once, do it right the first time...

I'm sure you will be happy with, thats a lots of anchor for that boat but more anchor is always better in my eyes. Please post a review of that windlass once you use it some as i know there are a few members here that are interested in them including me.
Did you also buy Good's brand of anchor line with it ??

Yes, I got their color coded line. It comes with 10' of the chain, but after talking to several members I got more. The most they offer is 50', but with it being 5/16" Tom (from Good) said that should be plenty. I originally had a 22lb anchor but decided to go to the 33lb. As I've read so much on here about anchoring situations and all seem to agree better to have more than necessarily needed. Now the long wait until September...
