    Default Fire Lake water clarity

Fished Fire Lake on Monday (17 Feb) and found the water clarity has turned real ugly. Fished in the same area as we always do (and everyone else) but we couldn't see more than 18 inches below the ice due to the murky water. Everytime we punched a hole, the ice would turn brown from all the gunk in the water...and the water smelled musty. Not sure what has the lake so churned up, but it sure shut down the pike fishing!

Fished the lake that weekend as well, wondering if anyone has fished it since and if the water clarity has improved?

Was out by the island Monday the 24th could only see about 18 inches below the ice. No sign of fish but a great day anyway.

I walked the dog around the lake on Sunday (23 Feb), and there was a couple groups fishing right near the boat launch area. Nobody down at the other end of the lake. That says it all right there.
