    Default Sharing Angling Success

I am always looking for great photos of fishing success in Alaska for the website "Fish of the Week" feature photo. We like to showcase Alaskan anglers all year long and will send out a sticker pack for photos selected for the weekly showcased angler. Winter time seems to slow down on submissions and I am hoping their may be some interested anglers here that never heard about the weekly fishing photo share.

Come by for visit @ www.alaskansalmonslaye rs.com the "FOW" is located on the front page. A hyper link is provided below the photo which opens up an entry form. You do not need to give any specifics about catch location or lure/bait used unless you want too. Anglers name and brief description of estimated size or species and a general location (South Central, Interior, Mat-su Valley, etc) would be helpful to tell visitors to the website a little about the catch.

We archive all the Fish of the Week photos on the website into seperate albums by year. If you dont want to make an entry come by and see some of the previous Fish of the Week.

Thanks in advance for considering, looking forward to seeing more photo submissions from the Outdoor Forums Group.

I feel your pain, Wes. I refuse to hold fish 2" in front of the camera to make them look twice as big as they really are. I try not to think of myself as a snob, even though I probably am, but I more just think it's a shame that deceptive photos don't let you see how big the fish really is. I always say, "Nice fish! Too bad you can't really tell how big it is." I will say this about your fish pic though: the fish is a beaut for sure, but you didn't get a shot of its best angle. The quartering-up-from-the-belly shot is not the most flattering of the fish. The broadside profile or oven slightly from above perspective tends to be much more attractive. That may be why your nice fish was not selected - just a thought.

Thanks for your previous submission. Comments already posted cover great points made for visitors to be able to actually see the fish photographed. Although you do not need to fully extend your arms,it will help to rotate the fish or bend you wrist so you can see more than the belly when you take a photo. There have been more than a couple dozen photos submitted we did not use, your not the only one. Great catch for sure, hope you catch many more. Previous FOW photos are good examples of what we would like to share, not all of them have arms out or use a 2 inch rule either, but you can clearly see and identify the fish from a good side angle.

Note to self: Its not my fault the cameraman gets 2 inches away from my fish to take a picture. I grew those arms, and I can hold them up, fully extended if I want too...LMAO
