Default Northern SE shipyards to make Tophouse?

My inlaws have a 1994 36x12 Navigator yacht and are looking to have a commercial style enclosed Tophouse/ Wheelhouse put on it to replace the canvas. Any shipyards people can recommend? We would take her to any Juneau/Sitka/Hoonah/Petersburg/Wrangell yard.

Also taking bets on what this job will cost.

    Thanks,
    Sobie2

I would ask Budd Simpson, I think he had a custom one put on the G. Bear back in the day?

I would check with the boat manufacture and see if this weight will change your stability and stabilization to much.

Call Dave Svendsen at Svendsen Marine here in Wrangell. He does an amazing job. (907)-874-2212 He also has a web sitehttp://www.svendsenmarine.com/home_page

I put one on my boat. Measured 9'w x12'l x 4' h approx. It ended up weighing around 275# w/o windows (the canvas enclosure weighed 200 -225#) I'm just guessing that the windows will weigh 3 -400# so the final additional weight should be around 375 to 475#. Cost will be around 15K to 17K. Labor was a killer but I'm kinda slow.

In-laws are thinking the Boat Doc of Juneau might be capable.

It is super sunny here today and I am hoping we can take her out for another spin this weekend! I need to install some power down riggers. With an enclosed wheelhouse this will be more enjoyable in the future (as it will hold in some heat).

Precision Boatworks in Sitka can build you a top house.

    I'm guessing 25-30 grand.

It definitely wouldn't cost that much. I hate throwing numbers out there, but I'de guess maybe $15,000 - $20,000 at most. Depends how elaborate you want to make it.
