Default Anyone fishing the bridge lately?

Curious if anyone has been fishing the bridge at Cooper Landing recently. Saw some nice temps down there on the forecast the last couple weeks. I'd like to get a trip in down there before Uncle Sam sends me to Kandahar in March. No rainbows in Afghanistan.

I just logged on to ask the same thing. I may head down this Saturday but wanted to know if the ice shelves are there to step onto. With all the warm weather I hope it isn't completely open on the edges.

The bridge has been a zoo. The water is coming up.

Clarity sucks too. Less than a foot.

I went down to the river sunday. There were a few guys fishing the bridge. With the temps in the 40's we did sports to jims. I have had colder days in September. It was unreal. No ice shelves. Sportsmans lot is down to pavement. Jims ramp is just dirt. Freaking for the end of Jan.

Water is very very dirty. It is low but not as low as you would expect. We got zero fish and never even saw any silvers in the usual spots but then again. When you cant see more than a foot in the water there is not much to see. It was still a great day for a float and to see the river when it is low/ Seward highway was clear of ice and snow too. Pretty much no snow in Cooper Landing. Just a couple feet in the passes. Im guessing there might even be a few bears coming out with they way things are down there.

Still going to give it a try before I deploy weather permitting. Drifting one day may be an option, too. Looking forward to spending some time on some open water. The great summer of 2014 belongs to Kandahar now so I gotta get mine in March! Hope to see some of y'all out there! AKNook let's get after it!
