    Default Alexander Lake Fly-in

A couple buddies and I are looking to do a fly-in trip to Alexander Lake. Was wondering if anyone has done it before, and any tips and/or suggestions on charter services would be appreciated! Thanks

Expect company. The last time I was out there, in March of 2011, there were airplanes EVERYWHERE. And the fishing was not that great. Been there 3 times, never had more than 5 or 6 flags on a trip, caught a couple of 29" fish that were very fat, maybe 8-10 pounds.

    Good luck.

Sounds good guys, I figured there would be people out there, but didn't know it was that popular. We just want to go to fishing in a place that's not very easy to get to with the possibility of big fish. Threw around the idea of Clarence lake as well.

Go to the Nancy Lake access by the Polaris dealership off the Parks and walk in. Not very many people fish that area once they have to start walking in because the hill is a killer pulling a heavy sled up, but always produced nice pike for me every time I went there. Fish maybe 30 yards from the river outlet you'll catch some.

Years ago I caught some monster pike out of Hewitt Lake. Not sure about the current status though.

Alexander Lake is easy reach for snowmachines. You'll see more of those than airplanes unless it's a bluebird spring day and pilots need a place to go play. Same at Flathorn and Figure Eight. The popular spots are well defined and there's plenty of room even on a busy day. Everybody's just out to have fun. I always enjoy getting a few fish stories from people I meet there.
