State record is 24 pounds 12 ounces. World record is 25 pounds 3 1/2 ounces.

    What did that monster weigh?

    Congrats on the awesome catch!

Get that fish to the nearest ADF&G and get an official weigh.

I've seen the carcasses of fish that big and a bit bigger along the banks of the susitna. The big ones are in there but they are tough to find. We did catch one about 17lbs at the mouth of sunshine creek one night. The next morning there was a filleted out one that was easy 20+ lbs.

    Default thanks

The two other fish were 8lbs and 6lbs. This was my third twenty pound and beyond burbot, none of which have been taken to ADF&G. I like the meat too much to let it sit a few days for an official weight. This fish wasn't going to break the state record. It probably was going to hit 20lbs 8oz, or so. I used two scales and they both read the same. All of these fish were processed within a few hours of being caught.
