Default Not a gun question but,

Can you trust the guy who is currently making Dirty Harry shoulder holsters? He wants six months after he has your money.

I got my chest holster from Simply Rugged. I am very happy with it. Superior craftsmanship, great service, great product. The holster can be worn on the chest, or the hip. The only 'problem' (which isn't really even a problem) is that the adjustment straps are about twice as long as they need to be for a person my size. They had a fast turn around time; I highly recommend them. Several of my friends have also gotten holsters from them as well, and all are pleased.

No direct experience with J.O. to relate, but given the overwhelmingly negative stories posted elsewhere, I don't think I'd gamble my money on that deal.

However, I have dealt with Black Hills Leather of Laredo TX, and can recommend them without reservation. VERY nice quality workmanship, quick delivery time, and nice folks to deal with. Rudy's a no BS straight shooter.

Back when I was into cowboy style shooting I bought a couple high dollar rigs from Kirkpatrick Leather .

Their stuff is extremely well made. I also had a shoulder rig made for my Sig 220 made by them back when I was Law Dawging. It was handy to use when I was wearing my going to court suit.

I also have the Simply Rugged holster with the Chesty Puller chest rig, the straps are waaaaaaaaaay to long, for me anyway. I need to cut off some excess leather. I want to leave enough to be able to adjust it for wear with just a shirt or light jacket to heavy cold weather gear. Also I wish that when the gun (Ruger SBH, 4 5/8") was in the holster it sat a bit higher in the holster with a bit more grip exposed. I know its a feature to help keep the gun in the holster when out and about however. Very well made piece of equipment!

    Frankly, NOPE.

He can't be doin much business with that M O.

Maybe, he just depends on the occasional chump.

Is the "Dirty Harry" shoulder holster special?

IIRC, Dirty, used a plain old garden variety shoulder.

Also, a shoulder holster for the kind of handgun Ole Dirty had may not be the most practical choice.
