Talking Aspen Flats or Upper Russian River Area - How early have you hiked it?

Thinking of hiking in mid May, have done it first week of June and there were slides before the Lower Russian River (near Barber Cabin) anyone hiked the trail in May?

    Thanks!

Trail should be pretty good up around there by now right? Anyone been out there lately?

There was so very little snow up there this winter. Im sure there is still some on the ground but nothing major. I would think mud would be a bigger issue than the snow.

I would think by mid May things should be good on that trail all the way up this year?

Finally got to get on the trail this year. Backpacked it with a couple friends. Caught a couple nice Dolly's. Mine was almost 18 inches I'd guess. Also saw the largest bear paw prints I've ever stepped across. That'll keep your eyes and ears alert on the trail for sure. Perfect weather last weekend too.
