Default January WA hunt. Need help

Anyone know of a solid waterfowl guide in WA state? I Am going next month for Geese and Seaducks. I need to get back out, and in a bad way...

I am looking at doing a day or two on the salt and a couple out east for geese. Seems the season opens up for everyday hunting around the middle of the month.

    Thanks

I really like Potholes/Moses lake area, I assume phesant is still open then, check on it and do some in the afternoon. Don't really know about seaducks but if in the Tacoma/Olympia area, the Nisqually flats can be good, but you do need a boat there. Happy to tell you what I know if you have 5 minutes. Bud

I'd hunt in eastern washington, down by the columbia for geese, lots of geese hold there before moving south to Oregon and California. Sea ducks can be had in peugot sound. There is a guide on the FA Sea Duck DVD that had those guys on the birds big time. Really good scoter shoot anyway. You won't see as many harlequins down there as you do here, but they are around. The limit used to be one per season, not sure if that is still the case. You may want to google that dvd and see if you can get the guide's name. You may have problems getting a seat right now. Most of the good guides are usually booked before the season opens.

Burbank guid service, In washington state is very good from what i here. I have seen some pics from one of the guys i am tight with and they were very impressive. I am not positive where they are located at there though, but if look up pauls pond or burbank guide service you should be able to find it. I have trusted the guy that reccomended it to me with my life for what thats worth. I looks like very good feild hunts for geese and pothole hunting for mallards.

Keep a eye on the weather in E Wash. It can freeze up hard there and stay that way a while, most of the moving water will be open, but all the potholes will be ice. I do know a couple spots. Bud

if you have a boat Columbia produces lots of ducks and geese. Cans bluebills ringers all the divers and pretty good puddlers. We hunted it late January every year for at least 15 years when I lived there. We hunted the vantage area in Washington. Great hunt! Definitely going to find mounted if that's what you are looking for

Ahhhh, the big city of Vantage......I grew up hunting this area. Love hunting that sage country for waterfowl. Ducks in corn, just something really appealing about that
