    hi guys, thought some would get a kick out of these two pics!...was looking at my wife's dad's old hunting mags.....this is from 1922!...
    what? no gortex or scoped guns??....this "sow" was killed on Kodiak as part of a collection for a museum in the lower states!...I guess at the time the "then" governor( or the one previous) wanted to exterminate the brown bears so they figured they better get one before that happened!!... my, my how times have changed!!....what gun is that?..old army 30-06??.....larry

    I would love to read the article. Is there a way you can type it out or take a good picture of it so we can read it. Man I have always wondered what it would be like back then. Thanks for the post.

    Yup, leather, canvas and wool - that was high tech back then. You can get those old magazines at flea markets, antique shops and that online auction site.
    Those old stories are a hoot to read. Just think, no Kifaru, Kuiu, Sitka, Goretex, Sat phones, Mt. House, Kevlar and ss rifles.

    Another 1922,watch him unload the kayak just past two minuet mark The bearded seal towards the end is terrific 35 or so minuets.

    I couldn't believe the technique he was using to spear those fish! Truly amazing on how they adapted to the conditions.
