Default Time for ske's how's the ice

Most all the lakes here in the valley have just froze over and are not ready for ske's yet. How about where you are at.
I have a cabin by lake creek . Would like to go there in a couple of weeks. Any reports of ice and snow conditions would be great.
as cold as it has been it should be making ice.

The ice is not thick enough for skis down here on the lower Kenai Peninsula, nor is there enough snow in the hills for ski flying.

I finally did get to talk to dan out at the lodge It has still been warm there 23 deg when I talked to him. They didn't get much snow maybe three inches max which is good the lake has about three to four inches of ice. With not much snow the lake should start makeing good ice as soon as the temp drops a little.

Got the same story from him yesterday. He was going to go drill the lake today in front of the lodge and call me back. I may hear from them in the next few days. Hoping it builds ice and not snow so I can drop in there with the 180 on wheels. Still looking for a set of ski's for it.

There's probably a few sets of ske's around.. Below zero here last night and tonight.

    Default MATSU Ice

Measured 7-8 inches on Seven Mile and Anna Lake (south of Big Lake) today. 5 inches clear under 2 inches of cloudy ice.
