It's a good start. Some of them where high standard with good stories, high quality cameras, and tasteful/artsy work. Others were about on par with TV hunting shows (not particularly impressive). If you've ever gone to the Banff Mountain Film Festival movies or even the fly fishing movie at Bear's Tooth earlier this year the quality of cinematography is well beyond the average outdoor TV. They use better quality cameras (so the film is MUCH higher quality), have better quality story lines, and there is more art in the filming. Hunting shows need this and it's a good step in the right direction. I think this first attempt is about 20 years behind the ski/climbing/fishing genera movies, but it will catch up quick if people keep trying stuff like this. I'm excited to see where subsequent hunting film festivals go.

There was already another thread on this, of which I was unaware at the time I opened this thread. There is a lot of discussion there. http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/...ar-Tooth/page2
