    Default Tent pole repair

    Howdy, all.
I've got an old Moss tent that I love. I split the end of one of the tent piles, and while the repair sleeve worked fine for a while, I'd like to get it repaired. Does anyone know of a tent pole repair shop in Anchorage, or is this something I'll have to use the intertubes and postal service to take care of?

    Thanks.

There is a company that sells replacement poles for tents. I can't remember the name but an Internet search could probably find them.

I'm pretty sure REI fixes them.

I had a tent and poles damaged by a little black bear. REI had everything to fix the poles and repair the tent. Go back to their service counter.

The only place in the USA I know of that makes/fixes poles is a place in Vancouver WA called tent pole technologies (http://tentpoletechnologies.com/). I have used them and am satisfied. They do fast/reasonable work. They can fabricate sections to fit your pole. They can also straighten bent poles. You will have to ship the pole to them, they will give you an estimate, you pay for it, they do the work, and then ship it back. I had some pretty badly wind-bent poles and they fixed and had them back in under 10 days.

REI doesn't fix poles; but they will refer you to tentpoletechnologies anyways.

I had these folks make a couple sets for me. They are carbon fiber.

You can get stuff to fix most pole damage from http://bearpawwd.com/poles_stakes/po...html#tentpoles

I have picked up quite a bit of stuff from them and they are fast and reasonable.
