Default Off Topic: OK old Alaskans, need lyrics to song "I like humback salmon."

I can't remember the words but when I do, it would be a great song for me to teach the grand-kids.

All I think I remember, is something like:

    Oh I like humpback salmon,
    Alaskan humpback salmon
    Caught by the north-sea fishermen

And I like crabs and shell-fish
They certainly make a swell dish
    Caught by the north-sea fishermen...

It used to be pretty popular around Petersburg 30 years ago....

    Here is one version:

    I like humpback salmon
    Good ole humpback salmon
    Caught by Ninilchik Fishermen
    I like clams and shellfish
They sure make a swell dish
    Caught by Ninilchik Fishermen
    I don't like T-bone steak
Cut from a steer in Texas
    Just give me fish
    An' I don't give a darn
    If I do pay taxes
    I like Humpback salmon
    Good ole Humpback Salmon

I found this on a web site about somebody who took a trip to Petersburg.

    I Love Humpback Salmon

    I love humpback salmon
    Good olí humpback salmon
    Caught by the Norkse fisherman,

    I like shrimp and shellfish
They sure do make a swell dish
I think the halibut is grand!

    I donít like T-bone steak
Cut from a steer in Texas
    But give me fish!
    And I donít give a ****
    If I do pay taxes!

    I love humpback salmon
    Good olí humpback salmon
    Caught by the Norke fisherman

I asked my Girlfriend about this, she grew up in Petersburg. She tells me ALL children were required to learn this song in Elementary school so they could sing it at all gatherings and festivals. Its still sung to this day.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day,
Teach a man to fish and he'll also learn to drink, lie, and avoid the honey do list.

I only lived in Petersburg for about 2.5 years. 1984-1986 ... I could never find a house that I could afford on what the City wanted to pay. So I rented an old float-house ( turned into a pier house ) 7.5 miles out of town. ( And spent most of my off-time chopping firewood. ) Plus they only gave 11 days a year of leave back then. The next place I worked for offered 30 days a year and substantially more pay.

My wife really wants to go back down and visit for a few days.
