The sportsman's here in Wasilla has the Rio brand, but I don't recall seeing any of the Bismuth Shells. Be worth looking into If the Hevi-Metal I bought doesn't work out, haven't shot any of it yet.

Those were expensive then, min wage $1.35, I had to work 3 hours in a gas station washing windshileds and checking peoples oil, as well as pumping gas. Shells much cheaper now then then if compared to work done to buy the shells. Bud

Hmmmmm.......I never really thought about it compared to minimum wage but I find that hard to believe. You may be right but for some reason when we used to buy a case at $3.79 a box it didn't seem like that much back then. I'm talking about 35 years ago or so. When I see the prices of some of the shells these days I cringe....!!!

I'm refering to the early and mid 60's when i was in HS and first couple years of collage, working min wage jobs while going to school. Of course later in life working above min wage made things a lot more affordable. Bud

Some are upwards of 25 dollars a box. Over $1 a shell thats a pretty steep price. I get sticker shock all the time.

I like blue box Federals or AA Winchester. They're cheap, but they work great if you pick your shots and only focus on birds that are in range.

#3 3" Kents for me. Does not always kill them but my dogs like lively ducks anyways.
