Default Papa Bear's Adventure moose hunt 2013

I did a alot of research on this site while we planned our moose hunt. I thought I would share a link that takes you to the video of our hunt. It was truly a demanding and emotional hunt that resulted in a great moose. The video is on Cabela's Deer nation page and a bit tricky to find. You need to scroll over from the the Whitetail shows to the "Cabela's Out West" and select the moose hunt. Thanks the Steve Powers and his team who did a great job.

    ^^^^^ I caught that. Ha! ^^^^^^^

Good hunt film. It also shows some of the emotion that hunting evokes in us.

It looked like he was in a pretty wet spot. Now let us see the uncut version showing the butchering and packing. Or share a few more details.
Congrats an a nice one. }:>

I actually asked Kurt twice before he shot, "are you sure you want to do this? " He was sure. It turns out we could paddle through the lake we camped on and only had a quarter mile pack. It was a nasty alder and swamp quarter mile but better than the mile paddle with a portage and a mile hike that got us to the bull!

Great moose and great hunt. Curious what it scored? I'd guess it was shy of 224. Still an awesome animal.

"Livin' the dream of somethin' we've always wanted to do".....

So many can wish, but only a few can actually make it happen. As you found out Kurt, that's the blessing right there, as I could see it in your eyes in the days leading up to the kill.....just happy to be there. The bull was just the icing on the cake. Standing there after the shot, I'm sure it was hard not to let the emotions take over when you realized what you had been through to get to that point. First the dream, then the pain, then the fulfillment. Speaking for most of us I'm sure, I thank you for sharing that, as that to me, is what life's all about.

Congrats on a fine bull, and overcoming the curve ball that life threw at you. You hit it out of the park my friend...!!!

Here's to a lifetime more of fulfilling those dreams...!!!

Steve and Robin run a great service, did a float hunt through them at the same time this year. Didn't get my moose (was doing with bow) but not for lack of bulls! Thanks to them I had the experience of a life time, great people and great operation!
