Byers lake area
Anybody ever been up there to do some glassing for bears? Was thinkin about heading up there this weekend to do a little r&r with the wife and kids. Can't hurt to do a little huntin too right? How about troublesome, I heard there are some good bows and grayling. What is a good fly to use? How about a gold ribbed hare's ear?
Not looking good..
Bush, you should probably call the Alaska State Parks Matsu office at (907)745-3975 before you head up. I was planning on doing the same things, but the trails are a mess and there is ice on the lake. I called them Monday, and they said the ranger had to turn around on the trail because it is so muddy and boggy. You can't even get to the other side of the lake to the hike-in camp sites. Also, there was only 5 foot of open water off the edge on Monday. May want to give them a call and get the current conditions.
Hey, thanks for the tip
Hey thanks kbskinny11 for the tip. I will take your word for it. We will just have to find somewhere else to go.
