    Default J.E.S Reboring

Anyone have any experience with this outfit. I have a couple new FN model 70ies in 7mm-08 and was thinking about getting one of them rebored to a 338 FED. I have no use for it since I have a 338WM and a 338-06. I just like .338 and thought a 338 Fed would be a fun white tail/black bear gun. Before I send a new rifle off I was wondering if anyone has had any work done and how it shot. I really expect 1 MOA if not better. Thanks for any advice.

1Cor thanks. I did read those threads, but couldn't find what I wanted. I'm looking for range reports ect. I'm actually trying to find a negative about them, but I haven't had any luck

Iíve never seen anything negative about JES, his 3 grove jobs are said to be great shooters.

If you decide to re-barrel for whatever reason I have the 338 Fed and 358W tooling.

I have nothing but good things to say about the work he did for me. Mine was a model 94 converted to 35-30/30. I'm not sure a lever gun is ever going to win a bench rest match, but the accuracy is very good in mine. Elmerkeithclone has had several done by Jesse I think and sang his praises on all of them.

I don't think you will find any negative about Jess, he did a Kimber Montana to 338 WSM and the work was very good and he did a rebore on an 84L Montana'06 to 338-06 for a good buddy (who gave me his name originally) and it now is his most prized firearm and the most accurate from what he tells me - He is a very nice guy and knows what he is doing

I've never heard anything bad about his work. His turn around time is very quick. I sent a 30-06 to him on September 20th to be rebored to 375 Whelen. It arrived back on the 30th. I am still on the slope but will get a look at it tomorrow. I had him do the three groove. His prices are great, his work is first rate from everything I've heard and he turns them around fast. It's hard to complain about that kind of service.

three animals have filled the freezer with Jes-rebored rifles. Two big bull moose, and a bull caribou by my son. I've no complaints. My .358 is a bit longer in the throat than the little savage 99 offers in magazine clearance. not a big deal though, it kills just fine. The three groove is weird! I'm puzzled every time a look down the bore after cleaning.

He's done 7 for me and they all shoot MOA. My two favorite are a Vanguard 358 Win. that used to was a 243. Then I have a 336 that he turned from 30-30 to 375 win. It' the best shooting lever gun that I've ever owned. Nothing but praise for JES.
