Default Fish Rite Drift Boats: 1990s vs. 2000s

    Hey all,

I recently moved up to Anchorage from Montana. I'm excited to get out on the Upper Kenai and hook some rainbows. I am looking at getting an aluminum drift boat. (I have absolutely no desire to get a raft.) I have been looking at some Fish Rite boats from the early 1990s through the early 2000s. Is there a substantial difference in design---i.e., did the boats get wider in the 2000s? Just curious if it's worth saving a few grand and getting a 1990s model or whether it's much better to get the newer models.

    Thanks for the help!

Hey AKLeonard, I'm thinking about selling my 20ft. FishRite and 15Hp Honda! It's a 2004 guide model!

Is it because of the government shutdown?

I sent you a private message about your boat. You can get to it at the very top of your screen under "notifications."

Handling I really haven't noticed a substantial difference. Though I feel the boats of the 90's are a bit more durable.
I've owned several, but the one I've kept is my original 94. It's a 16'x54" and I just have always loved the boat.
There are benefits to newer boats! Forced air heating, walk around rowers seat and so on.

Fish-rite is a great boat and I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

I think you need to have a minimum number of posts or activity before you can recieve PM's.
