    Default The Distinguished Flying Cross for Bravery & Service

    He left home to become a bomber pilot, flying missions over Europe during World War II and serving as lead pilot over some of the first U.S. attacks on Berlin. He received five Air Medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross for bravery and service.

    I knew Cal, though not really well. He was a real piece of work and an absolute go-getter. If he had to go, I'm glad that he went quickly and at home. Sincere condolences to family and friends.
