Thread: Good Decisions

    Default Good Decisions

Since we seem to be reading about some failures in pilot judgement every year, here is an opportunity to read about some good decisions. The helicopter camping trip on Mageik over the past week seems like a good example...check out the photos, including the one of the helicopter. No really, there is a photo of a helicopter in there...actually let me see if I can hotlink that one...

Now that's what I can icing conditions! Glad I wasn't on that excursion with Sam! Sam is a good pilot and will always make the right decision in my opinion.

Would not want to scrape that off with the credit card.

UPS had an aircraft flying from Asia last night that thought it was low on fuel. They landed in King Salmon, and the plane is parked on the ramp still. The tower didn't know whether it was really low on fuel or if the computers just thought so, but they landed and I'm sure it will be sorted out soon. Nobody hurt. Only 300 miles from Anchorage, which in one of those at altitude might seem like such a small thing...but they don't have to wonder whether they would have made it because they landed safe and get to fly another day.
