    Default Hunting bear in June

I will be in Alaska June 4th thru 18th I'm coming up to salmon fish the Kenai the ditch and Halibut fish But was thinking about spending 2 or 3 days hunting Black Bear.Do you think they are going to be rubbed up by then or maybe be able to get a good unrubbed bear ? Or should I just wait until may of next year and come when they are just coming out ?

do they still taste good in june? I'd actually like to know that I could do a nice quicky bear hunt in June when I get done with bowhunter ED
I choose to fly fish, not because its easy, but because its hard.

    Default they always taste good...

unless they have been on fish.
lots of good grass fed bears around in early june, then berry fed up high in the fall.
as for being rubbed.....some are, some are not...
